Adverb Clause of Result “so....that, such ....that”

So + adjective + that

 

*        Their dog was so fierce that no one dared  to come near it. [i1] 

 

*        Taner was so excited that he couldn’t sleep  last night.[i2] 

             

 

So + adverb + that

 

*        The snow fell so fast that our footsteps were soon covered up. [i3]              

                 

*        His speech went on so long that people began to fall asleep.[i4]                               

 

*        Our neighbours play their radio so loudly that we can’t sleep.[i5]                                                    

 

So + adjective + a\an   Noun  + that

 

*        It is so good a story that I’ll never forget it.[i6] 

 

*        He is so honest a man that he never tells lies[i7] 

 

 

So + many\little\much\few + Noun +that

 

“Many” ve “Few” sayılabilir isimlerle kullanılır.” Little” ve “much” ise sayılamayanlarla kullanılır.

 

*        There was so much dust that we couldn’t  see what was happening. [i8]     

                            

*        He made so many mistakes that I’m really disappointed.[i9] 

 

*        He made so few mistakes that we are all surprised.[i10]

*        They are such  careful students that they rarely make mistakes.[i14] 

 

*        He writes with such great care that he rarely makes mistakes[i15] 

 

Such +a lot of / a few / a little

 

*        There are such a lot of films to see that I can buy new one.

 

*        I'd put on such a lot of weight that I couldn't get into my trousers

 

*        I can’t buy that with such a little Money.

 

 

to be + such that

 

*        His courage is such that even his enemies admire him.[i16]
